Hi
there!
For
those who have never seen me in person, that's
me right there at the entrance of BolognaFiere,
the venue for Bologna Children's Book Fair. ;-)
It
was my first visit to Bologna, Italy and we met
some wonderful people there, and also, more importantly,
people interested in our books!
In
fact it was our first participation in any international
book fairs and we hope to be there every year.
The experience we gained there was valuable, especially
in our efforts to produce even better books for
the kids.
We
were in Hall 29, participating under the National
Book Council of Malaysia. Of course, the "star"
of our booth was the latest addition to our series
of Learning Mathematics with the Abacus... the
Year 2 Activity Book.
We've
got good response from people of various nationalities
and backgrounds... from Africa to Russia and we
sure hope that these books will eventually get
to be used in classrooms there. |
We
then went on to London for the London Book Fair for
just a working visit. For a book fair that showcases
books for the general public, it was much smaller than
Bologna's that specializes on books for children.
In
London, I met a few people who are interested to distribute
our books in the UK and adopt our books in their mental
arithmetic centres. Great stuff!
